Description

The Henney Kilowatt was the very first fully functional purpose built electric car made by the Eureka Williams Company of Illinois. Although there were 24 made in 1959, the 1960 model has numerous features that made it the more desirable and drivable of both years. Only 8 cars were produced in 1960. This 1960 is a one owner car with less then 4,400 original miles. WE have the original title issued in 1960 to the President of the Arkansas - Missouri power Co-Op. The car runs off an ordinary 115 volt outlet and runs approximately 60 miles on a full charge. This car was featured in "The History of the Automobile" by Motor books Ltd and "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Automobiles". The car recently underwent an extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The paint on the car is in very good condition with no major imperfections. It has been resprayed in the past and looks very good. Both front and rear steel bumpers are in very good condition with only minor scratches and pitting showing to both. No bubbling is present to the body or lower quarters or frame. There are some minor bubbles where the right rear roof line meets the rear deck lid. These are not major. The underbody is solid overall with some minor scaling showing. The underside has been undercoated and there are some spots in the floor that new metal has been welded in. The underside is still solid with no major rot that we have seen. The body matching wheels are wrapped with 135 SR15 radials with good tread life left on them. On the road the car takes off with a whisper and drives down the road smoothly. Brakes work well and do not pull. Turn the key, flip the power switch and off you go. All batteries are brand new and cost over $1,500 by themselves.
