| | Just a quick note to let you know we are delighted with our purchase from Scott Brandt. This was the first time we had made a purchase via E Bay Motors. I'm glad I didn't have to use Scott's guarantee that if we weren't happy once we actually saw the car, we wouldn't have to purchase it. We are happy with the purchase. Thank You.- Dale - | | | | Scott
I know you are busy but just a note. I bought an 86 Porsche 928 from you last December. I am having a great time with this great car. I just got it back from Dr. Vinyl and they did a wonderful job with the dash. I know that you are the guy I will be buying my next hotrod from because you really helped me with this one.- Rich Favazza - | | | | Scott, finally figured out how to get the positive feedback posted on Ebay. The bus is great.(87 School Bus w/ 71K)
Thanks!- Rich - | | | | Scott, I wonder if you were ever able to come up with phone information for the fellow who owned the Indian? (1945 Chief w/ Princess Side hack) Would really like to talk with him.
I have done a lot of overdue maintainance on the rig. Mostly fluid changes, cleaning of primary case, timing side, oil pump and tank. Also have done a wheel bearing repack, and put on a new chain. Found battery mount and installed a proper battery. Have added the spare tire mount that I kept from the sidehack I had in the early 70's and am on the lookout for a rim in decent shape. Put new brushes in the autolight and got the electrical system back to charging regularly. Took the corbin speedo apart for a cleaning and check (had an Uncle who was a watchmaker and love working with tiny gearing). It now operates smoothly - no needle swing. Found the safety bar for the front and am on the lookout for the rear one. Have done a number of short "run-ins" and the pleasure of that irreplaceable flathead sound at a modest 50 - 55 mph is worthy of praise. We both made out like bandits!
One thing is abundantly clear, the cat who held the bike for all those years did regular maintainance...until he either got to old, or lost interest. I find most things are in excellent shape but overdue for the sort of regular attention that antiques thrive on. That is all addressed now, and the rig cruises quite comfortably, smoothly, and dependably. The tranny is much smoother that others I have ridden. Glad we made a connection! The only real puzzler is why in heck someone took the horn off and simply cut the wires! Virtually everything else was done on a more professional level. Wonder if someone did'nt slip into the old cats garage and simply remove something that was perhaps the easiest and most portable item... Who knows. I have feelers out for a replacement. The one mystery that I have not gotton to is unlocking the tool box. If I find 20K stashed in it I will let you know.
Again, if you can find or get a number for me I would be in your debt. Keep your eyes peeled for anything else Indian. I really want to add a 101 scout to the collection, and I have a pal who is dying for a sidehack.- Bob W. - | | | | Actually I got my share of comments. Even after the engine "blew" a mere 208 miles down the road in Calvert City, Kentucky. The people at the Super 8 motel thought the car looked great.(65 Cadillac Conv't) Then they called Bailey's Wrecker Service for me, who towed the car to their shop, arranged for an Enterprise rental car for me to drive to Atlanta and advised me that the cause for all the oil blowing out the dip stick and oil cover looked to be twofold -- an abnormally high timing on the engine and a large discrepancy in the compression in one cylinder compared to another. They plan on checking it out more this week, now that they are back from taking one guy's son to the Texas NASCAR races of last weekend. Bottom line is that I do not yet know what happened to the car, but it is in capable local mechanic hands. Their friend across the road has a 1970 Caddy that they like to work on. - Russell C. Man, Sorry it took me so long to send you an e-mail about that Yellow '77 vette, but I've been busy working to earn some money back for savings. I've been very happy with the car. I haven't had any problems, but I did change the fan clutch, and I need to get a new oil pressure sending unit. I had a good drive back home, and I'm enjoying all the looks I get from people. It's a nice car to drive because everyone appreciates it all the way from little babies to old retired people...women and men...they all like it and comment on it. Strangers are always talking to me about it, and asking questions, and it has been a pleasure to drive. In another week, I'll be driving down to Mexico, and I have no doubts that it will perform well for the whole trip.
Thanks for the good buying experience, and Maybe someday in the future, I'll look you up to see what you've got for sale.- Nathen M. - | | | | Hey Scott,
Finally got around to sending you an e-mail. Sorry, things have been pretty busy around here.
Well I made the trip from St. Louis to Reno in about 48 hrs. Most of it went pretty well, except for the little starting problem my car had. Turned out to be just dirty battery terminals.
I sure love my Porsche (1979 911SC Targa) (and so does everyone I've shown it to)
Thanks for everything, you were great to deal with it.
Take Care, if you're ever in this area, look me up.- Steve - | | | | Scott, Greetings.
Thank you for your response. You are right, the Porsche (1962 356B Karmann bodied) is in good shape for being 40 years old. With the events that took place and items that happened, I sure you can understand my position.
I could not believe I sent my son on a 1,900 mile trip with out a spare tire. And the cable to release the hood was/is broken and could not get the hood up. There is an extra cable to open the hood under the front end of the car and is pointed out in the owners/drivers Manuel you furnished with the car..............I have also ordered misc parts, dist., carb, ignition, etc as to get the car running. Not sure what the problem is yet. No Porsche shop within 250 miles of me. So will have to hunt and peck...........
As I indicated before, the car broke down in Billings, MT. Which is no fault of yours or mine...........- Fred H. - | |
