2008 Dodge Viper
For 2008, the Dodge Viper SRT used an 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces a full 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque. 0-60 times are under four seconds, 0-100-0 in under 12 seconds, and braking 60-0 comes in less than 100 feet. Horsepower didn't come only from the engine, the use of a plastic hood allowed engineers to increase the airflow through the hood scoop; openings along each side are not just for show, but to circulate air within the engine compartment, to keep power going with a warm engine. It also lowered weight and helped keep the Viper costs down. Other body panels are also plastic and carbon fiber is used for some structural parts to keep weight down.This particular car shows only 6,700 original miles and is nearly flawless. This was the first year of this color (Venom Red) and was ordered with no stripes. Inside is finished in Black/tan leather with suede inserts that looks great with the Venom Red. The black soft top is nearly perfect with no imperfections that we have found. The only blemishes that we have found to the car are a few small scuffs to the drivers door sill which is expected with such a low car. Inside, the interior is flawless and still has the factory plastic on the drivers side floor mat. Both seats are perfect with no wear showing to the leather. A/C blows cold, lights, blinkers, radio, horn and wipers all work with no issues. The AM/FM/CD sounds great coming out of the Alpine speakers between the seats. There hasn’t been any aftermarket parts installed that we can see, inside or out. The heart of the beast is an 8.4 liter aluminum block V10 that produces 600 horsepower and 560 lb –ft of torque. Keeping the power to the ground are the massive 19x13 inch rear wheels that are wrapped with the stock Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires that show minimal wear. Under the hood is very clean and stock with no aftermarket parts ever being installed. This car was rarely driven and taken very good care of during ownership.
