1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL
The R107 took the chassis components of the mid size Mercedes-Benz W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class. The W 107 chassis is also referred to as "R 107" for "Reihe" (series). The series comprised SL and SLC models. The SL variant was a 2-seat convertible/roadster with standard soft top and hardtop. The 107 chassis had the longest run of any Mercedes chassis, 18 years from 1971 to 1989. Some 237,000 107 chassis SL's were built. About two thirds were sold in the US. These 107 cars are larger, heavier and more costly than the previous generation W113 SL cars.

This particular car has been with the same owner for the last 14+ years here in St. Louis and seldom driven. The condition of the car is nearly flawless and shows only 94,000 original miles. The paint, top and interior are all in great condition with no major flaws showing to any of them.

Finished in a beautiful shade of gold, the paint on the exterior of this car is virtually perfect. The car has no major blemishes that we have found, and the rest of the car is just as nice. All the chrome and stainless on the car shows no pitting or peeling of any sort and retains its original luster and shine. The top goes up and down with no issues and locks tight with no signs of leaking.

The interior of the car is equally as nice, the tan leather interior shows very little signs of wear, with no rips, stains or tears anywhere. The carpet is in equally great condition, with no major staining or imperfections. Dash is solid as well as the wood trim. All lights, blinkers, wipers and horn work with no problems along with the AM/FM radio. The A/C does blow but currently not cold.

Under the hood the 3.8L V8 runs smoothly and goes down the road perfectly, the automatic transmission shifts smoothly while cruising and firmly under hard acceleration. The engine itself

is very clean. The car has all of the looks of the bigger 5.6 liter cars but won’t empty your pockets filling the car with gas.

The underside of the car is extremely solid as is the trunk which includes a full size spare and jack. The original trunk carpet looks great with no staining. There is no hardtop included. VIN number is WDBBA45AXDB023955, the car is being sold on a clean Missouri title. The odometer reads 94,664 miles, which is believed to be actual.
