Sold Inventory 1967 Ford Mustang GTA The GTA designation was only used by Ford in 1967 and never again before or after on any Mustang. GTA stands for GT Automatic. The GT option consisted of fog lights in the grille, GT gas cap, dual exhaust with cutouts in the rear valance, chromed quad exhaust outlets, stiffer suspension, power disc brakes and GT or GTA badging and stripes. The 1967 Mustang body was changed for this year and was made wider and longer, also deeper grille, concave taillights, deeper sculpting along the side with 4 grille vents behind the doors. The body was changed to allow Ford to install the first big block motor in a mustang.This particular car has gone through a complete, stripped down to bare metal, restoration with complete photo documentation of the entire process. A CD with over 300 photos of the restoration comes with the car, showing that it was an extremely straight, solid body to begin with. Finished in black with red vinyl interior, the car was completed in late 2008 and has only had a few hundred miles put on it since. The owner of this car put over $70,000 into this restoration which left nothing untouched. The paint on the car is in excellent condition, showing no imperfections. This is a very high quality, base coat / clear coat finish that has a mirror like finish. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are nearly perfect with no damage showing to either; just a few very minor scratches. The GT stripe and GTA badging has been added to the lower section of the car which looks great. The car has had larger, steel wheel flares installed which give the car a more aggressive look. Inside, the interior is completely new and looks great. No wear, cracking or fading anywhere inside this car. When the car was disassembled it was soundproofed using NASA foil. There has been an updated stereo installed which sounds great coming out of the new speakers in the kick panels and will accommodate your iPod. A new wood steering wheel has also been installed. The car originally came out of California and has the optional fold down rear seat opening into the trunk. This opening can be used to put your surfboard in when you go to the beach! All lights, blinkers, wipers and horn work with no problems. During restoration, there was a Classic Auto Air A/C unit installed that works with no problems as well as all new wiring from Laurel Mountain Mustang. Under the hood, the 390 Cu In V8 runs great and very strong. The motor has been dressed up with new a chrome A/C condenser, chrome alternator, chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Fed with a Holley 650 4 barrel carb and Edelbrock aluminum intake, the car is a rocket and is sure to please the power hungry. Another big add on were aluminum heads. On the dyno, the car has produced 460 horsepower. The sound of the car is what true muscle cars should sound like. Coming out of the Hooker Ceramic headers and full stainless exhaust the car has an amazing rumble. The car drives down the road with no problems connected to the fresh C6 automatic transmission, which is what the car originally came with along with the 3:00 limited slip rear end. The American Racing Thrust II wheels are wrapped with brand new 275/60 R15’s in the rear and 235/60 R15 BF Goodrich radial tires in the front. The car does have a Marti Report that comes with the car along with all the receipts, restoration photos and manuals. With less then 1,000 miles since restoration, you are getting a freshly restored car that is sure to make you happy. The car has been in numerous shows and always brings home trophies.
