It is the original paint (Pastelblau). We have been told that there were only 1500 in this color. There are some small blemishes in the paint - rock chips, a door ding and a little rust bubbling on the lower edge of the driver’s door. This car is a multiple show winner and it had a 4 page feature in BMW RONDEL magazine. There is BBS front and rear spoilers and Alpina badging on wheels, trunk lid and steering wheel. The front and rear chrome bumpers are factory BMW European bumpers. They are both very bright and shiny. The Euro headlamps have a working wiper system. The glass is all in good condition. The windows are tinted and they roll up and down smoothly. This car has an extra set of keys, manual crank moon roof and rear defroster. The alloy wheels are in great condition with no curb rash. They are wrapped with 225/50 ZR16 radials in the rear and 205/55 ZR16 radials in the front. All tires have lots of tread life left and show some dry rot The inline 6 cylinder engine has been custom reworked with performance modifications including stroker crank, domed pistons 10.5:1 compression (runs fine on pump gas). It also has been Head ported and polished. There are titanium seats and valve keepers, a high performance camshaft, and a high flow radiator. The motor is connected to a smooth shifting, 3 speed automatic transmission with shifter in the center console. This car passes California emissions and has all original parts installed. The header and down pipes will be provided to new owner. The suspension system has been upgraded with Alpina springs and Bilstein shocks, Alpina sway bars, front and rear with Heim joints. Included with the car is a new set of rear Bilsteins.
The custom interior looks great. The front bucket seats have been replaced with power Recaro LC fully electric seats. The seatbelts are now a 5 point Sabelt harness system. The driver’s seat does show some wear and rips, but overall looks great as does the other front bucket seat and the rear bench seat. The headliner is white vinyl and is in great condition, as is the black carpet on the floor. The radio is a Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette player that is period correct. It also has a Blaupunkt equalizer and Pioneer speakers system with Ungo box alarm. This car now has VDO gauges that measure: cylinder head temperature, oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust temperature and volts.
Custom trunk built-ins with compartments for battery relocation, BMW First aid kit and remote power off switch. Fold down compartment for records storage, fire suppression system, audio and alarm control boxes. The trunk is carpeted and very clean. The gentleman that had this car built for him was a gadget and button freak! The buttons in the center console controlled the HID light that was mounted under the rear bumper for those pesky tailgaters! This has since been removed. The other switches control all your lights inside and out. The switches can kill all you brake lights, running lights, EVERYTHING!
The car runs and drives beautifully and turns heads EVERYWHERE!!! It is in exceptional condition for an original painted and original interior car. A fantastic daily driver and a show stopper on weekends. Included with the car are the original owner’s manual and brochures, and a stack of receipts over 4 inches thick. The VIN is 5032420 and the mileage shows 45,451 kilometers. This car is being sold on a mileage exempt California title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
